Translation and interpretation are often used interchangeably by people outside the language world. However, insiders know they require different skill sets. Many medical linguist roles ask for both. This 3-hour performance-based workshop helps interpreters build on their medical experience to develop translation skills, whether they plan to take on dual roles or move into translation full time.
No prior translation experience is needed. The webinar lays out concrete steps and techniques for translating accurately, including methods for handling complex medical terms, acronyms, and medications.

About the Instructor
About the Instructor
Sara Greenlee, MA, CT, CHI-Spanish is a medical translator and interpreter who works both in-house and as a freelancer. She is ATA (ES>EN) and CCHI certified. Currently, Sara serves as administrator of the ATA Medical Division. She holds a master’s degree in Translation and Interpretation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). Her career in medical interpretation began at Stanford Children’s Hospital in California and she currently works at Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Southern California. Sara gives trainings for interpreters and continues to share her knowledge within the profession whenever she can.
