In this 1-hour performance-based asynchronous course, we will explore techniques and tools to aid memory development for the consecutive, simultaneous, and sight translations modes. Using a research approach based on Gile’s Gravitational Model and recent tools, such as digital flashcard creation systems, spaced repetition, and AI prompts, we will put these concepts into practice in session. We will explore how incremental interpreting practice strategies using note-taking and visualization can improve your ability to encode, store, and retrieve information. By the end of this course, you will be equipped to customize your personal memory skills practice to advance your skills, prepare for a certification exam, and/or recall longer chunks of information during your interpreting encounters.

Advanced memory skills are required for accurately performing message transfer tasks during clinical encounters.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
