This 1-hour session will guide language professionals through the terminology and communication challenges associated with hematology treatments. This session will cover common illnesses, such as leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other disorders that require complex care. You will be introduce to routine hematology treatments such as stem cell transplants, transfusions, chemotherapy, and medications used to combat side effects of these treatments. This material will be taught through patient stories, interactive participation, and multiple choice knowledge checks throughout.
